Theme Conversion (X to Pro)

Hi,

Recently,

I came across this offer displayed on my theme.co dashboard. I’m very much interested in converting since I would like to design a custom header and footer for my website. I would like to know a few things before I proceed to convert to Pro.

1. I bought my X Theme from Themeforest, does upgrading from X to Pro automatically reflect on the Themeforest dashboard ?

2. What is the process involved in changing from X to Pro ?

   • Does it affect my current website - do I need to redesign or just convert and the website will work as usual?
   • How do I update the theme from X to Pro on the website?
   • Does it affect any functionality on my website?

3. X Theme pricing is USD 59 and Pro is USD65. Once I’ve converted to Pro (the pro conversion is free), how does the support remain active? And also when do I need to renew?

Hi Bimal,

Thank you for writing in, since your X license is a purchase prior to the release of Pro (April 10, 2017), that license is eligible for the free conversion to PRO (as you see on your screenshot)

1.) It’s not going to change anything on the ThemeForest side. What it does is convert your current X license to PRO (Check your licenses page)

2.) Since your X is in the latest version, when you switch to PRO (latest version), it should not change anything. It will add the new features that are available only in PRO, but it’s not going to change anything on your site, unless you have customization on your x-child theme, in that case, you also need to install a pro-child theme and move all your customizations.

Remember to clear all your caching features (plugin, server-side, CDN, and browser’s cache) after the conversion so that the code from the PRO is in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

3.) Not sure what kind of support you’re asking here. If it’s a product support you can ask your question here in the forum. If it’s a theme update support, your license is eligible for lifetime update, no renewal period.
