I must not be the only one who gets very frustrated with the way the media source control works. When you’ve selected something, like an image, and you later want to check some details on it by clicking on the control again, your image is deleted… then you have to search for the image again in the media library. Aaarghh!
Why is there no details link (or clicking anywhere inside the control) that simply pops up a media library overlay with the image’s details without deleting the whole image from the page?
Even if you wanted to delete the current image and pick a new one, the order in which this happens can be improved. Right now you click on the control, your image is deleted, then you pick a new one. I’d love it if the image were replaced only when you’ve confirmed the selection of a different one. That way if you’ve mis-clicked or simply changed your mind you can back out of the delete action and keep the current image in place.
I’m hoping that the theme options reboot cycle we’re currently in addresses this weirdness regarding the media source control in some way.
