The Grid plugin is missing "Grid Slider" on Layout tab

Hi there,

I’ve checked my configuration many times and have deactivated plugins as well but for whatever reason I cannot figure out why I do not see the “Grid Slider” when choosing horizontal.
This is what I see:

I compared it to another website where I had the same setup and you can see the Grid Slider is there:

Any idea why this could be happening?

Hi Aleksej,

Thanks for reaching out.
Unfortunately, the mentioned problem can’t be replicated on our end, the Grid Slider options show if the Horizontal layout is selected. There might be something with this specific installation.
I would like to suggest troubleshoot the following common issue to help us to recognize the reason.

1.Theme Related Issue
2.Plugin Conflict
3.Theme Update related issue
4.Child Theme Related issue ** if you have activated it
5.CSS/JS Customization
6.Disabling Cache
7. Version compatibility

If you discover that an issue is coming from a custom code or 3rd party plugin, kindly consult with a developer or contact the plugin author. Please note that we do not provide support for custom codes and 3rd party plugins.
If none of the above helps, please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

Thanks

Hi there, thank you for your response.

I went and checked the common troubleshooting again and still there was no resolve.

Also to add, I just noticed whenever I select “horizontal” click save then refresh, it doesn’t stay in “horizontal” it reverts back to “vertical”

I’ve attached the credentials to the secure note.

Thanks again!

Hi Aleksej,

I see the issue on your site, but I could not replicate the issue on my dev site. I notice your The Grid is a few updates behind. Can you update The Grid to the latest supported version 2.7.9.1 (you can refer for the latest compatible version here)

There is an Update Required option underneath the name of The Grid plugin you can use that to update it.

Remember to clear all your caching features (plugin, server-side, CDN, and browser’s cache) after updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

Let us know how it goes,
Cheers!

Hi Friech,

Thank you for the suggestion, I’ve gone to the bulk extension manager and clicked update. I received this notice “The plugin is at the latest version.”

But when I go back to check, it’s still like this:

So I am not sure why it is not possible to update.

Any other suggestions?

Hi @Aleksej_Original,

Try deleting “The Grid” from your plugins and reinstalling it. It should install at the latest version.

Please take note that we are starting to phase out support for The Grid. We just added a notice about this in Docs: https://theme.co/docs/the-grid As you’re developing your site, you may want to consider using an alternative solution.

Thank you for the heads up, is there an alternate solution you can recommend?

Hi Aleksej,

Yes, since you want to do a slider/carousel. You can use either the Revolution Slider or Essential Grid. I suggest the latter.

How to create a single row portfolio carousel with essential grid

Hope it helps,
Cheers!
