Template Manager Unusable

A discussion of this issue begins here: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/import-starter-template-not-working/26840/11?u=simeoned where I was advised to begin a new thread. Let me start off by saying that the Mod Security suggestion mentioned there is not the fix I need. There is nothing relating to cornerstone-endpoint in the logs at all. Moving on from that troubleshooting step….

I have recently upgraded to 2.04 for all of my Pro sites - there are many. Not a single one of them has a functioning template manager. Many of them are on the same host, but not all of them. So my suspicion is that this is not related to the hosting environment - no error are being generated when I attempt to use the template manager - it simply does not work.

Screenshots:

Panel #1 shows what happens when I attempt to Import Starter Pack, and #2 shows a similar problem when attempting to Download Template. These strange, skewed buttons appear and nothing happens at all. As a result, I can’t use the header builder because I need one of the templates as a starting point.

I will be sharing a secure note with support credentials in - please have a look ASAP as I can’t get anything done until this is resolved. Thanks in advance!

Dan

Alright, what I believe we have here is a problem relating to Chrome’s (latest build for OS X: 65.0.3325.181) ability to display the tooltip which shows the confirmation, “YES, CONTINUE” or, “NO THANKS” buttons. I discovered this by launching an older version of Firefox where I could see the tooltip style box.

Jumping back over to Chrome, I noticed that, even though the display of the tooltip is skewed, obscured, and in the wrong position, the buttons are actually still clickable. What I mean is, if you click where, “YES, CONTINUE” would be if it was displaying correctly, the templates do in fact download right away.

My conclusion is that there is a display bug relating to Chrome on OS X. I have also discoverd some issues with Safari during my troubleshooting which I will address in another thread shortly. (EDIT: link to Safari thread: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/pro-wont-launch-in-os-x-safari/27355?u=simeoned)

Could someone please look further into this. Chrome is my go to and I really do not want to have to switch between these constantly. Its a fine temporary work around but its not awesome. What do you guys think?

OK, so now I’ve found out that this issue applies to more interface elements than just the Template Manager. Here is what happens in the Header Builder when trying to select a BG color for the header bar.

As you can see, the color picker is wonky just as described in the Template Manager issue. I saw that someone on staff logged in to my test site. But there is no reply… Thoughts, suggestions, fixes?

Hello there,

It seems its a browser issue than a theme one. I’ve tested the color picker on my end and it’s working fine.

I suggest you re-install Google Chrome: https://www.google.com/chrome/

Hope this helps.

@jumar,

I’ve just spent all morning uninstalling and reinstalling Chrome. Before I rebuilt my bookmarks and settings, I logged in again and tested the color picker issue. Same problem again. No change at all.

Did you test Chrome for Mac? PC seems to be working fine on a friend’s machine.

RESOLVED:
I had not yet updated to OS 10.13.3 High Sierra because of a known incompatibility with some software I use on my system. It seems that, even though I had the latest version of Chrome, the OS being out of date was causing this issue. Either that, or whatever was going on was otherwise remedied by the update.

Glad to hear that you have found the solution.
