Template error: file not properly formatted

Hello, I have a multisite installation with all sites using the same version of X. I am trying to import templates from one site to another for 4 pages, all built the same way in cornerstone. 3 of the templates work fine, the 4th gives me the error: “Uh oh! Sorry! Your file is not properly formatted.” The pages that I used to create the templates are all exactly the same structure; only the text is different.

I have looked at other topics about this issue and I’ve already tried using another browser, etc. I also tried creating a new page in the same site with the template and saving a new template. This worked for me in the past, but now it’s not working.

Can you help? I will provide login credentials in a secure message.

Hello @Carlyas,

Thanks for writing in! I have checked your template and even downloaded and imported in my local testing server. It is indeed having some problems. this could be coming from the code or elements added to the template. Can you please point us which page, section or block you have save this template from? Keep in mind that if you have added a custom html or anything that is not valid and correct might be the cause of the issue.

Kindly let us know.

Hi, the template was created from https://scwfit.com/california/certifications/

Hello @Carlyas,

I have re-saved another template copy and downloaded it. I imported it to my local testing server and still experiencing the same issue. I already have investigated further and I could not figure out what is causing the issue. This could be because of the mixed classic and v2 elements on the page or could be something in one of the contents in the accordion element item. I would recommend that you just recreate the page on the site. That is way more faster than looking for what is causing the issue that we cannot import this template.

Thank you for your understanding.
