Social Media icons in navbar do not work & change of social media icons in footer

Hi there,

I just added three icons via appearance > menu via and to the navbar and the icons are visible. I tried over and over again to add the facebook-square-icon, pinterest-square-icon and xing-square-icon (also in that order), but it did not work. I referred to the FontAwesome cheatsheet. What did I do wrong?

Furthermore I have three social icons in the footer. Therefore I changed the order (from Facebook, Xing and Pinterest to Facebook, Pinterest and Xing) via some code customization in the child themes functions.php I found here: https://theme.co/apex/forums/topic/how-to-change-order-of-social-icons/
Unfortunately the icons are not visible anymore. How can I fix that?

Thanks for writing in! I see that your icons in the navigation are rendering properly, but not the footer icons. Could you please try clearing your cache and your navigation icons should appear again (https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-clear-your-cache-in-wordpress/).

There were some recent changes with the introduction of Font-awesome version 5 which you can read from here (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/icons-showing-as-blank-box-after-update/45437/2?u=mldarshana).

So for the footer customizations, you need to use the following latest code and implement your customizations accordingly.
