Slider Revolution Hero Image Loads After Content

Our site is ErgoArchitecture.com and as you can see the content below the fold - the white background with black text - loads before the hero image. Sloppy and annoying. We took a stab at solving it some time ago, but it is complex because it is in Slider Revolution and we are using Autoptimize and Cache Enabler.

We spent quite a bit of time trying to speed up page loads while keeping the pages from breaking and it wasn’t easy. We got decent speed, but never solved the order problem.

Anyhow, I understand that it is beyond the scope of tech support to solve this, but before I try again, I wanted to make sure that it is at least possible? I also wonder if anybody that has succeeded could give me a hint? It obviously has something to do with preloads or lazy loading, but there are so many different places that these things can be set it is difficult to know how to proceed!

Thanks for any advice you might have!

Steve

Hi Steve,

Thanks for reaching out!

Please check this thread that might able help you fix your issue:

Hope that helps.

Thank you.

Hi Marc,

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately I could not find such a setting. Even in the link provided there was no mention of Preset Slider Height. It also seemed to refer to an older version of the plugin. I fear that it would not help in our case anyhow as our slider is set to Full-Screen? It might be possible for Slider Revolution to determine the screen size and reserve that space, but I can’t find the setting you are referring to that would allow us to do that.

The closest I could find was in Module General Options> Layout> Advanced Settings> Min Height. I tried entering 100%-70px but it did not seem to allow that calculation (screen height minus nav bar). I feel like there must be a way to do this because other sites seem to manage it?

Anyhow, maybe another user has solved this?

Steve

Hey Steve,

I could not find the setting in the new version now. Please try setting a Minimum Height and/or enable the Breakpoints Height

Hope that helps.

Hi Christian,
I tried to do that as explained above, but it does not seem to be able to compute the height properly. I tried entering 100%-50px but it did not seem to allow that calculation (screen height minus nav bar). The breakpoint would seem to have the same issue - that it does not deduct the nav bar - but I will give it a try when I have a chance.
Thanks for your help!
