Slide change callback functions?

Hello, I’m beginning to play around with the new slider component. I would really like to be able to hook into to the slide change events in order to add custom Javascript. For example, I have an accordion that is related to a slider and I would like to be able to close the current accordion item and open the next one when the slider changes to a new slide.

Are there any javascript callbacks we can use with the slider? Thanks!

Hello, @adaptifyDesigns,

Thanks for writing to us.

The feature that you want it would require custom development, I would suggest you please contact a developer who can assist you with your concern or you can subscribe to our services called One where customization questions are answered. Please note we don’t provide custom development support. It is out of the support scope.

Thanks for understanding

Hello @prakash_s, thanks for your response. I am a developer, and so I’m hoping you can provide me with the available callbacks for the slide change events. It would be really helpful. Without any callbacks, I have to use some pretty hacky methods, like creating a MutationObserver to listen for property/class changes on the Slide elements.

Every slider script I have ever used provides callbacks for slide change events. I’m sure they exist for the latest Cornerstone Slider components, I just don’t know where to find them.

Your help would be much appreciated. I don’t need help implementing the customizations, I just need the callback functions that are available. If I hired a developer, that’s the first they’d want to know too.

Thanks.

Thanks.

Hi @adaptifyDesigns,

My colleague has already told you that answering this is beyond the scope of Theme Support and you can hire a developer or can avail of our service named One. Alternatively, you can try the Custom Attribute & the Custom Properties of the Slider which may help you on this.
Please find the detailed documentation below.

Hope it helps.
Thanks

No, sorry, this is not helpful.

I have already read the documentation and I am utilizing the custom-properties and custom-attributes, and I am finding some bugs related to those (I have opened a separate ticket regarding the bug).

If I hired a developer, how else would they discover the slider callbacks besides asking? Where are they located? Is there any documentation? It looks like the cornerstone Slider elements are using an implementation of Slick Slider, is that correct? Can i used standard Slick callbacks?

I am not asking for help with implementation. I am asking a simple question: are there callbacks available for the slider events? If so, where can I find them? How is this outside the scope of support? How else could I find out if I didn’t ask?

I assumed that you would be interested and motivated to help me better utilize the native cornerstone slider functionality, rather than implementing a custom script.

I have purchased the Modern Sliders bundle, watched all the videos, read the documentation, and I am trying my best to put the sliders to good use. If there are no callbacks to hook into, then this is a major drawback of using the new slider components, as it limits what can be done with the sliders. Can you please just tell me whether or not there are any callbacks that I can use, so that I can move on?

Thank you.

Hey @adaptifyDesigns,

Regretfully, we don’t have callback functions. But, I’ll post your concern in as a feature request so it might be taken into consideration in future updates.

Thanks.
