SiteDrive-like syncing of .tco files in Pro Libraries inside Max?

Hi @charlie!

Sitedrive is an excellent product, and your execution of it is impressive. It functions as a universal, Pro-independent plugin, which adds to its versatility.

That said, I believe there should also be a version integrated into Pro, or at least into Max. I’d say that Templates > Library in Pro should have this functionality, limited to .tco files.

I believe this would be a powerful reason for switching to Max for those that have the old Pro Unlimited licenses.

Thak you!

A version integrated into Pro at Templates > Library would be much nicer than how it currently works.

If you already purchased SiteDrive I don’t think it should be a Max product.

I really would love this functionality integrated in Pro. With every new project I create a few new components, that I could reuse for other projects - but it’s quite tricky to get all this organized. Most time, I would need the sitedrive-features only for a few weeks while building a new site. So buying an anual sitdrive license for each new project is not an option. But having an upgrade to my new (and probably existing) pro / cornerstone licenses to have this functionality would be a dream!

@JvP, absolutely! I imagine that if Sitedrive were purchased, all file types, including .tco files, would be accessible directly through the Sitedrive user interface. This wouldn’t eliminate the need for the remote .tco file list found under Templates > Library, though users would still need to import those files into the website for them to appear in the local library.

That said, remote handling of .tco files should ideally be a core feature, at least within Max. The full SiteDrive capabilites are not needed here, hence I suggested that the complete UI could be inside the existing libraries. Better yet, this functionality shouldn’t require Max at all, especially since some competitors offer similar capabilities without additional costs.

Thanks for the kind words @Misho. We’re really pleased at the initial response to SiteDrive as it is a big need in the larger WordPress ecosystem, especially for professionals. We have two Max products on the way so I’m not sure we’ll get to a remote template sharing feature directly in Cornerstone this year. To clarify on SiteDrive’s end, whenever you import a Post, Page, or Layout that is a Cornerstone Document, it’ll automatically import the .tco file. So no need to store .tco files in your media manager.

@JVP, in a world with just .tco files we’d agree, however with a focus on moving any file, you need a dedicated space.

@ULinn if you only needed the functionality for a few weeks, the Pro level would be perfect. You can switch the license around per domain as needed.

I would also like to see this in Max for tco files. That would 100% add value to max. Max for me has so far been pretty under whelming even though I continue to pay for it.

Integrating SiteDrive for .tco files sounds like an excellent idea and a great way to enhance the Max subscription’s value significantly—I fully support it. As a long-time subscriber, I must admit that my experience with Max so far hasn’t entirely met my expectations, so updates like this would be a most welcome addition. Considering that key features like Personify and Charts were introduced quite some time ago (in late 2023, if I recall correctly), it’s encouraging to know that new tools like AI and Forms may be coming. Integrating the SiteDrive for .tco and having a clear timeline for AI and Forms release dates would be very reassuring, especially now that the first quarter of 2025 has ended.
