Site issue -- critical error

Hi,

I just noticed the site was reporting a critical error when accessed. Because it automatically updates to the latest version of WordPress, I think it’s 99% related to this announcement. However, I’m unsure how to fix the issue after the fact or how to follow these instructions without breaking the site further. And I’m unable to access even my WordPress dashboard.

Once I’m able to, login details and site will be available in a secure note.

UPDATE: Was able to ask Dreamhost to downgrade WordPress to 6.1 and site is working again. Would I be able to have help with making the changes so make theme compatible with WP 6.2?

Thanks for writing in! You will need to update the X theme or Pro theme first before updating the WordPress core 6.2. Our latest version available are:

  • X theme 10.1.10
  • Pro theme 6.1.10
  • Cornerstone 7.1.10

How would I do that? Is that covered under the initial cost?

Thanks. This may be a stupid question but will all the work I did on the theme, including customizations, be lost upon upgrading the theme?

Nothing should be lost when you upgrade a theme, plugins, or WordPress core. Just to make sure everything is intact, we highly recommend that you clone your site in a staging area and then you can test the updates in the staging area first. Once everything is working as expected, you can proceed with the updates on your main site. Kindly check out this article:
