Selecting Text by dragging out of Sidebar causes closing the Text area

Hi!

First of all, congratulations on yet another extremely valuable update!

I hope you don’t mind if I comment several UX issues too, along with testing the new stuff!

First one is rather small issue that happens in Chrome, but not in Firefox.

So, when editing the text in the “Edit Text” area in the sidebar, first thing to do is to select the existing text and delete it. That can be done in multiple ways, and one of it is to drag the mouse over it to select it. However, if this is done and the edge of the sidebar is touched, the “Edit Text” window will close.

This is an old bug ) but it would be nice if it will be fixed somehow.

@Georgich, yes, Beta is the best place and time to submit bugs even if older ones.

I know that it distracts a bit from the main subject of testing the new features, but then again, it is a bug in Beta too.

I have noticed that it also happens if a color is selected in the Color Picker. If the mouse goes out of the picker area, it closes.

Gotcha. I’ll double check that as well. Should be possible to use a the same technique.

Beta 5: it seems that the issue returned?

Edit: happens only in the Element CSS, when selecting the CSS by mouse.

Thanks! You’re right. Looks like we missed one use case. I’ll get that fixed up.

Update: Fixed by disabling the “close on outside click” just for code editors. The problem is that the code editor library is consuming click events so I can’t from a distance determine if the mouse moved. This will make it more consistent with the CSS/JS editors.
