Search query is no longer default

Hello support,

When an individual clicks on the Search icon without entering a search field https://vitalytennant.com/?s= , the default view no longer shows. How can this be remedied?

Thank you in advance.

Hi @VVT,

Thanks for reaching out.
I have added a single value in the text box and it shows the error ** Forbidden. Your IP belongs to a high spam risk network. **, instead of showing the search result and that might be due to IP restrictions. To understand what exactly you mean by default view, we need to check the page. I would suggest you please remove the IP restriction and let us know to examine it further.
Please note that we are from different parts of the world and most of us have a dynamic IP so we can’t provide a specific ID address to you for whitelisting.

Thanks

Hello There,

The page, https://vitalytennant.com/?s=, is actually your search results page already. Do you have any 3rd party search and filter plugins? Did you modify the search results layout in your child theme? We would love to investigate. Please provide us your WP details so we can check your site. You can create a secure note in your next reply with the following info:
– Link to your site
– WP login URL
– WP username
– WP password
– WP Administrator Role

Hey @VVT,

If there’s no conflicting plugin, it could be your server and/or WordPress setup that cause this, because when I switched to the default WordPress theme, the issue persists. That means it’s not Pro that is causing the issue.

By the way, just to be clear, the issue is only the empty search, https://vitalytennant.com/?s= and not a search with a search term like https://vitalytennant.com/?s=crypto. If there is a search term, the search works.

Please have your web host investigate this issue.

Thanks.

Hey @VVT,

It’s best that the 404 issue is fixed because that is unusual. But, you can follow the solution that works best for you.

Hello @christian,

Agreed, we’ve pinned it down to slider code, and it shouldn’t alter the actual search results of the the pro theme, if somehow that can be addressed, and the slider plugin will also be notified.

Successfully.

Awesome!
Thank you for the information.
