Responsive text changed size after updating to Beta 3

Hi!

I have updated an insignificant site to Beta 3 to see how it will handle the update.

The site had a h-responsive class with these settings:

  • Compress: .8
  • Minimum size: 30px
  • Maximum size: 200px

After updating to Beta, the headline increased its size for 200% on desktop view.
After I have changed the Maximum size down to 100px, it then again looked like before the update.

Both Base font and Font size in settings were set to 1em.

EDIT:
Sa a matter of fact, all Headlines grew ins size. Some are now breaking the design because of it. However not on all pages. I don’t have any custom CSS that would cause this. I have tried to save that page as a template and load it to another site with Stable version of Pro, and the text is again back to normal.

Also please note that installing the stable version of Pro returns everything back to normal.

Stop using this, please ) This feature must be abandoned. Just use CALC value for headers and text.

@Georgich, I actually don’t use Responsive text anywhere in production environment. :slight_smile:

Still, the problem of increasing the size of headlines that have nothing to do with responsive text remains.

@Misho I’ve done some testing and what I’ve tried so far (on both 2.5.5 and 2.6.0-beta3) has been identical. I’ll keep looking into it.

Are you noticing anything with fonts themselves? It looks like we might have broken something in Google Fonts for sites that have the font manager turned off. Might be a separate issue, but if the font face changed it could effect the size a bit.

@alexander Font Manager was indeed turned off. The fonts were the same, they just grew in size.

Sure! It is down in the Secure Note.

I have now double-checked: the font is Fira Sans, and it stays the same, while all headings are growing in size in Beta.

EDIT:
now on the second Beta 3 install, the responsive text didn’t grew. only the headings across the page, and I think the Body text too.

Thanks Misho! I’ll have to look at it begining of next week. I’m sorry, ran out of time today. I’m about to push beta4 which has some other fixes. Doesn’t matter if you update this site or not I can take a look with either version.
