RC1 - Theme Options Don't Load From Builders

I noticed this in Beta 11 as well. When in a builder, choosing theme options doesn’t load the theme options panel and you cannot do anything. You need to exit to the WP admin and access theme options form the Pro menu.

Hi @ehsd,

Would it be possible to login to your site to check this out? If that’s ok you can add login credentials in a secure note, It’s working on my end with RC1. I think if I could see it first hand I might get a better idea of what’s happening. Thanks!

Hi @alexander I had the same issues when I enter the theme options from within the builder. The screen shows up blank. As soon as I refresh the page the theme options do load (RC1 version).

Unfortunately, its a local dev site. Same as @SchoonhovenOntwerpStudio, I am able to load the options after a refresh. This issue is from the global hamburger options menu and not the theme options button the the top of the builders.

I can confirm this on a test site of mine with RC1… I’ve literally done nothing on the site besides upgrade straight from Pro 3 to RC1.

When clicking theme options from the hamburger menu the layout pain says I haven’t selected anything.

If I refresh the theme options loads.

I can open a separate thread and give you access if you need it. Just let me know.

I can also confirm this @alexander .

Video recreating the issue: https://www.loom.com/share/e5b8efde49a44316948b9b4d654b8e55?from_recorder=1

Steps:

  • Create a header or a footer and access it (i suspect that you just need to be in the builder already)
  • From the header/footer click the burger menu (top of the bar) > Theme options
  • Notice the page will be empty or it will say you can add elements/layouts

Download package (WC is installed but apart from that it’s a minimal environment): https://we.tl/t-GnVbVmMBQo

EDIT:
I tested this WITHOUT WooCommerce and without the child theme as well using RC version of PRO and it was still happening

EDIT 2:

  • The backup was done using WP All In One Migration, it’s only 75M so you can use the free version for it. (Didn’t have another migration plugin at hand right now and i’m also working on a local environment)

Thanks everyone! I’ve reproduced this. Wasn’t following that it only happened if you navigate within the app at first. Been trying to track this down but it’s eluded me today. Will keep chasing it Monday.
