I can repeat a sequence where I edit a page, visit the preview, and when I come back the image selection boundaries are aligned upwards from their true position. If I scroll the edit window this is resolved.

Nice find! Very strange. Will let you know what I find out.
So I wasn’t able to reproduce this one. I added an additional call to the function that repositions the observer when the browser window is focused or blurred. Hopefully that irons it out.
Well somethings changed - when I return to the editor page the element boundaries don’t show at all until I scroll the page a tiny bit. Once I do scroll they are correctly aligned, but it’s still a faff.
Sorry again for the headfake - I think you were seeing that on RC3 again (mentioned on some other threads).
