RankMath and Google AMP, PWA

Hi Team,

Couple of quick ones.

  1. Are others looking at move or have moved away from Yoast to RankMath? Any plans for native X/Pro integration with RankMath… looks RankMath are working on streamlining builder integration on their roadmap https://rankmath.com/roadmap/
    Current RankMath API https://rankmath.com/kb/content-analysis-api/

  2. Google AMP, PWA seem more prevalent in factors for SEO rankings - appreciate its a continual moving target, any near term plans for these to really ramp up the SEO benefits of X/Pro?

  1. RankMath has been on our radar. I’ve been seeing people switch to it over Yoast. We’ve tested it with X/Pro and are impressed with how they’ve built things out. To clarify, it works out of the box with X/Pro at a base level. You’ll get the front end SEO improvements they offer. Content analysis is a challenge because not all the text of our elements is stored in the_content. This is an obstacle we’re going to tackle on it’s own (after the Layout Builder is released) which will reduce issues with SEO plugins across the board, or other introspective systems that need an accurate representation of the front end stored in the_content.

  2. AMP / PWA isn’t something we’re prioritized to date, but it’s worth checking into further. Last I checked you can use AMP, but occasionally encounter specific performance issues that need to be worked out on a per site basis. I’m making a note to revisit this - it’s worth a bit more research once we are scoping out future development cycles.

PS: Just following up on some older threads as we get closer to the next beta. We’re about to start testing it all internally. Keep an eye out a bit later in the month.

Another pretty nice SEO plugin is SmartCrawl, I like it so much better than Yoast. Most of the stuff Yoast charges extra for is already in SmartCrawl. I have no personal experience with RankMath but I hear it’s a very good plugin.
