Questions about the layout builder

Hi,

I have to questions about the layout builder.

1. How do I set the font size of headings for my blog posts? In the theme options there’s only a setting for content font size, and if I change that, it changes the size of my body font across the website.

2. When creating a layout for blog posts - in “The Content” I get a preview of my front page instead of a blog post. It’s not the biggest issue, but it would be nice to see the blog post instead of something else.

Thanks for reaching out.

1.) If you are using the layout builder, use the text element and assigned the blog title to it. In that way, you can customize the size of your blog post headings. If you haven’t watched our video tutorials about loopers and layout builder, please check this out.

2.) To change the preview layout, please click the button above the save option, then you can choose what preview you would like to view. See the example below.

Thank you very much.

I got the preview set, but about the headings I wasn’t specific enough. I’m talking about the headings in my content - H2, H3 etc…

Hi @Kobber,

This is actually just an intentional subtle difference in how things work. The content font size is applied via the entry-content class on all pages and posts by default. Layouts are to help you have full control over how the content inside is styled and this font size won’t be applied to the elements inside the Layout. By nature a Layout isn’t considered content since they let you build the structure around your Posts, Pages etc. If you need to change the sizes of your headers inside the layout builder then you need to do it via custom CSS.

Ok. By all the things Pro can do now - it seems a bit odd that you have to change heading sizes via custom CSS. I understand what you’re saying, but still…

In Theme Options I can change the body font size, but not the headings. In the Layout Builder I have full control over almost everything - just not styling of “The Content”.

In my case - on my website the lower headings (H2 and below) looks quite fine, but long words is the big issue as it goes of screen.

I saw another user having the same issue in this forum, and I guess more will come, so please consider making an option for us to have a bit more control over “The Content”.
