Purchase code validation issue while updating the cornerstone plugin

I have tried to update the cornerstone plugin. Then it shows we need to validate X. We entered the purchase code. Then, it goes to the login page. I didn’t get to validate the plugin. Could you please help me to update the plugin?

Thanks for writing to us.

I checked your Themeco account dashboard it seems that you have not added the staging website URL, in order to validate the site with the license code you must add the live website URL, and in case you want to validate the staging site you must add the staging URL.

In case you have not seen the theme validation doc please have a look at it.

Added the live site URL in the location and staging site URL in the staging. Downloaded the plugin and installed it over the current one on the staging site. But, the staging site has broken. Please help me to update without breaking.

Hi George,

I have checked your website and found that you are still using an older version of X i.e. 7.0.4, and the validation process has been changed in the updated version. I would suggest you please update the X theme and the Cornerstone by following the below steps.

1. Delete the existing Cornerstone
2. Update the X theme to the latest version on automatic updates
3. After the X theme is updated, use the link in the dashboard to automatically install the Cornerstone. It will be in the latest version.

And try to activate the license once again.

As you are using a much older version you may need to create a few pages from scratch as a few of the shortcodes and elements are already deprecated in the newer versions.
If everything goes fine in your staging please migrate the staging server to live.
