Proper way to convert theme X to PRO?

Hi guys,

I’ve encountered on multiple websites a problem when converting from X theme 9.1.4 to PRO 5.1.4
where the whole site crashes and the wordpress backend is not accessible anymore.
Only via wordpress recovery mode I can restore using an older backup.

I’ve read this doc: https://theme.co/docs/converting-from-x-to-pro
but that’s about upgrading from X to PRO and I have a PRO unlimited.

The method I’m using is;

• Making sure Wordpress, X theme and plugin’s are all latest version and upgraded if need so.
• Making a backup using all-in-one WP migration and download
• Upload PRO theme
• Upload PRO-child theme
• Activate PRO theme
• Activate PRO-child theme
  And then the whole site crashes…

Please help?

Thanks for reaching out!

Please make sure that you disable the Cornerstone plugin before activating Pro because, in Pro, there’s already a built-in Cornerstone.

If it doesn’t help, please give us the following information in a Secure Note.

• WordPress Login URL
• Admin level username and password
• FTP Access

You can find the Secure Note button at the bottom of your posts.
