Problem with template upload

Hi guys, i have a problem with the template uploads.

I don’t know why, but if i try to upload a template that has a media attached to it, the template can’t be uploaded.

If instead i try to attach the same one without the media, it uploads correctly.

The error in fact shows an error saying "templates::upload_media success:false --> http://prntscr.com/rsjke7

the reason is just the generic " Specified file failed upload test. " (and yes, my php.ini has the setting you always recommend in the other threads).

I can only guess this is happening due to a server configuration, i’m just wondering which one could it be?

Hello Frantic Ape,

Thanks for writing in! I have downloaded both of your templates. I have successfully imported the other template. And the other one, I am experiencing an error:

IKwpkAMwSYe5ZE1MMOM9EQ

Is this the same template file or that the template file is saved from another page with a different structure? To better assist you with your issue, kindly provide us access to your site so that we can check your settings and test the saving of the page as a template. Please create a secure note with the following info:

Oh, so it’s not just me!

the one that you could import (title with suffix “no-background”) is the one that doesn’t have images in it, correct?

And the other one, which has the same structure but with just a background image extra, gave you that issue I explained (I gave you the error that I got in the chrome inspector but you could see it as the screenshot you attached)

It’s happening in different sites with different templates and it seems to have started in 3.2.1 but it’s happening still with the latest version as of today (that particular template you have is actually one created with pro 3.2.3).

After many tests I finally found that it doesn’t get uploaded only when there are images or video links attached.

Info added as requested in private.

Hello Frantic Ape,

Thanks for updating in!

I have checked your site and investigated the issue. I was able to upload the templates successfully in my local test server.

What I did was that I have increased my Post Max Size and Max Upload Size to 64MB. You can check your setting in Pro > Status > PHP Configuration. It turns out that you only have 8m and 2m for the Max upload size. You will ned to increase the PHP configuration in your server. To do that, please follow the instruction here:

Kindly let us know how it goes.

That was the case in the staging site, yes, but not on the actual live site. i sent you in private a test i made and it still doesn’t work.

EDIT:

Found the cause. it turns out that there is a plugin that creates a configuration in the site that is left active even after having it deactivated. i’m not sure WHY or what about it created this issue but it must’ve been blocking the media upload somehow (i’m still looking into it to know if it’s a compatibility issue or just a configuration issue)

Regards.

Hello FranticApe,

Even with minimal installation, the Post Max Size and Max Upload Size should be at least 32MB so that the template upload will work especially if the template or the image in the template has higher resolution.

I have tried it in your staging site and it is not working. This could be because of a plugin conflict since you have several plugins installed and active.

Best Regards.
