Pro v6.0.3 added jQuery script to all web pages - How do I remove?

The release of Pro 6.0.3 added jQuery script to all pages on my website https://www.bellafsm.com. How to I remove this jQuery script from all pages and posts?

Hello @jnlinn,

Can you please provide the jQuery snippet that you would like to remove? I have checked your homepage and I do not see any custom script added from the Theme Options. Most scripts were coming from a 3rd party plugin like the GDPR Cookie Consent or the EWWW Image Optimizer js script.

Best Regards.

Hello @jnlinn,

As stated in our changelog here: https://theme.co/docs/changelog/pro-6, the jQuery was removed in Pro 6.0 release.

  • jQuery is no longer loaded unless using masonry blog/portfolio, the Ethos post carousel, or site wide BG images
  • Updated: jQuery is no longer loaded unless using the classic slider element, ilightbox, or classic element tooltips

The removal resulted to some issues and conflict with older Themeco plugins. Thus, in Pro 6.0.3 release, jQuery were added back. Our developers will be removing it totally in future releases.

Best Regards.

Hello,

I am not using ilightbox or classic element tooltips. I am using " LayerSlider by Kreatura Media". Is this considered a classic slider element?

There is more jQuery then what is stated in the changelog depending on what Themeco plugins you are using. LayerSlider does use jQuery in the admin section. If you are using shortcode for that and it was working prior to 6.0.3 you are probably fine. Also things like videos use WordPress libraries.

We can add a filter to remove the fallback jQuery code for this transition period until it’s removed properly. I will keep you updated. Thanks, have a great day.
