Pro in Multi-Site Environment Cannot Update

Cannot update PRO on Multisite

Hey, I have a multisite WordPress Installation with only 1 website atm, which has PRO theme installed. I cannot update the theme to the latest version because I get no update option on either Network Admin or the website’s dashboard. Tried going into the Network Admin, Site Dashboard, Appearance > Theme section of both website and network admin but nothing seems to trigger the update option. This appears to be a problem still in 2026.

We have an unlimited license. We have a multi-site WordPress. The main site (subsite) has a valid Pro license activated as do some other subsites already set up. The subsite shows 6.8.8 as available. Under the top-level Network Admin in WordPress, there is no update available. I’ve cleared cache, I deactivated the license and reactivated on the main (first) subsite. No change.

This really needs to be fixed. Auto-updates in 2026 are a security necessity, especially with AI being used to probe for weaknesses constantly.

What can be done to override or fix this behavior?

Thanks for posting in! Regrettably, as of now, you still have to manually update the Pro theme in your multisite setup. If your sub-sites use child themes with different custom modifications, you’ll need to review each PHP change carefully to avoid causing issues across the multisite environment.
