I created a component using the new component builder. Then I set the top level section to be an “export”. However I cannot find this component on a page to add it in. If I set the row under that section to export then it works as expected. Following the documentation I also tried setting it to " Library Top Level" but I still cannot find it on the page builder.
Do you have a staging server I could check out? Does it show up when you save and reload cornerstone? I do think we need more messaging on this part it’s not always obvious what’s going on.
Added login details. It is the “Featured Case Study” component. Trying to add it to the homepage.
Thanks a bunch I’ll take a look this week
Howdy, I need HTTP Auth there as well thanks.
Http auth added
Thanks a bunch
Any word on this? I have a couple of components that need to be wrapped in a section so it would be amazing if it were able to be exported at the section level as opposed to the row level. Right now I am simply selecting the component in a component element but that doesn’t allow for parameters to be passed through. Thanks!
I’ll check it out before the weekend.
I’m seeing the “Case Study Feature” component when I use the element list from the outline. Control click and you’ll open the element popup in the outline. I do not see it in the element library, but I think all “sections” are hidden in that list. Let me check with Kory if we need to do that, I think we might because you can’t have a section inside of an element.
If you don’t see it in the popup that makes me think it’s a browser cache issue. Try clearing the website cache and see if you see it after that. If that’s the case I’ll see if we can fix that caching.
Thanks for you patience and thanks for the kind words. Sites looking great btw.
AMAZING! Ok so “command” clicking the “Add Section” text in the outline does bring up the popup and allows me to add the section component. I had no idea that there was an option to do that. I do think it would be helpful to have the ability to see section components in the Elements tab and just not allow those elements to be placed inside another element but be added to the page. Either way this will work great for now. This theme update is a game changer, nice work
After hours of having the same issue, I finally find this thread.
I agree with @ZEBRADOG, that shouldn’t be that hidden!
I agree with you all it could be more clear and a nice feature to be able to add from that list. The system doesn’t support adding in new region from dragging currently which is why they are hidden. At the very least I’ll add a disabled line item there that tells you to use the outline, so you know your component exported properly. Thanks for the feedback have a great day!
