With the loss of being able to replace one element style with another (as per my previous post)

Would it be possible to have a right click option to copy an element direct from the element list. I can see 2 good reasons for this.

  1. (my main requirement) is to be able to paste the style of a ‘saved’ element/preset onto an existing element. I know you have mentioned components but I have a few issues with components (a) I have many existing websites built prior to components and (b) I do not want to have to create many parameters for a component just to make it fully editable

  2. right click copy element means we can easily add multiple instances of an element without doing the click and drag dance

@scotbaston, thanks for writing in! That’s actually kind of an interesting middle ground…so the mechanic would be:

  1. Save an “Element Template” of something like a Button style using the Element Manager into your Library.
  2. On the “Library” Workspace, find your Element Template and right click it, and select “Copy” from a context menu.
  3. The Element is “copied” just like normal in the live preview. You can now take this and use it just like normal…either applying a full Element overwrite directly on an Element, or applying just the styles if you want. Additionally, you could go up to a parent Element and paste the full Element or just the styles to all “like” Elements if you wanted.

Does that workflow sound correct to you? I’d have to look into this a bit, but this feels like a nice way to retain some of that functionality potentially without keeping it front and center.

Hi @kory

Just wondering if this is something you might get a chance to look at during this build?

rather than using a context right click, it could be a copy icon that appears on hover (like the existing ‘heart’ favourite), when hovering over an element in the element list

@scotbaston, we didn’t have time to get to it in this last round, but it’s still on my list…don’t worry! Not sure about a direct action, but at least the right-click as we discussed.
