Pro 6 Beta 2: issue with "Active Statuses" on elements

Slight usability issue here with the Active Statuses being applied to elements.
When Dynamic Content is used in, for example, a Looper Provider input, everything works as expected and the icons show up for that element in the outline.

However, if I then switch the Looper Provider to Off or any other option the Dynamic Content status remains, even though it isn’t “visibly” being used anywhere.

This may be a bit of an edge case, but I found myself troubleshooting Dynamic Content issues a few times and trying to eliminate any uses that might be causing unexpected results, and this confused me for a while, trying to find where in the element the Dynamic Content was actually being used.

The same goes for using dynamic content in the Advanced Background fields (e.g. featured image in the background image section) and then later switching away to a solid colour, or turning off the advanced background.

If it’s something that can be addressed then that would be neat!

Cheers

@arthurodb, thanks for writing in…this is definitely a bit of an edge case. Technically, there is still DC in your Element, just in this particular case it’s being used in a piece of the Element that can be “turned off” if desired. I’m not sure we have a mechanism for detecting this, and I’m also not sure I’d want to hide a status because there is something still present within the data of the Element itself. I have noted this and we will think it over, but I’m not sure it’s something that will be addressed in this cycle, but thank you for bringing it to our attention.

That’s fair enough, and I can definitely understand the egde-ness of it.

Partially I find myself clearing up as much as possible towards the end of a build, so that when I return to a project a few months down the line it is as easy as possible to drop back into it and make any required changes. For this, making sure the statuses align with what’s really going on is just a small quality of life thing, and making sure any hidden aspects of the element structure are correctly cleared is a small part of that.

Thanks for the response and for considering it anyway!

Absolutely, thank you!
