Pro 6.5.5. Custom Code Editor

I’m using Chrome with the latest Pro and WordPress.

I’m finding the code editor a bit of a pain to work with at the moment. Not sure when it started but seems like in a fairly recent version as I haven’t noticed it until this week. (I haven’t needed to do much CSS/JS recently as I’ve been working on a single site with Pro / LearnDash, custom loopers and PHP).

The issue I’m having is in the CSS windows. (Haven’t tested the JS).

I’m finding when working quickly with CSS if I don’t wait a bit after editing or deleting CSS, then the editor is undoing the changes I’ve done and jumping around in the window.

Yesterday I added a bunch of Gravity Forms CSS that I needed to edit and, unless I waited after each change, the window kept taking me to the top of the CSS screen and undoing changes.

Today I added a simple CSS with a :not and accidently added an inverted comma around the class. When I deleted the inverted comma and move my mouse the editor kept adding the inverted comma back. If I waited a second or two then this wouldn’t happen.

+1 can confirm

I’m not really having issues in the way you described. What browser are you using? Any chance I could see a site that is having this issue? Have a great weekend.

He wrote he is using Chrome, and me also (Chrome 127, macOS 14.6.1).
Please see the attached video.

I’m currently also using Chrome but Windows 11. (PC has 32gigs RAM.)

Seems to be a Chrome thing as I tested in Firefox and can’t replicate. (I’ve always preferred Firefox for development but I’ve recently had a lot of issues with Firefox and switched to Chrome.)

Appreciate that video you sent me. Let me know if you experience the issue in the release on Monday. You can recreate this all the time by typing and clicking on the window quickly. Have a great day.
