Pro 6.00 Beta 4 - Hyperlinks In Text Element

Hi,

I have discovered a weird quirk with hyperlinks in the Text element. In the Rich Text editor view, if I highlight text and click the hyperlink control button, the expected pop-up to add a hyperlink or choose a page does not appear. There is sometimes a slight shake to the words being used for the hyperlink, but it is not possible to add a hyperlink.

The only workaround is to switch into HTML mode where there is a placeholder message, and overwrite it with the real URL (see screenshot).

This behaviour only seems to be present if the hyperlink location is in the last line or two of the final paragraph in the text element.

Are you able to replicate this behaviour?

Thanks,
Christopher

@whitemedia, I looked into this and while the initial popup loaded for me, when typing into it, the dropdown of choices to pick from seemed to be hiding underneath the floating modals from our UI. I adjusted the z-index and both elements now seem to be appearing on top as they should:

This will be available in the next release. Thanks!

Thanks @kory. As I mentioned, this issue only happened for me when trying to add a hyperlink to the very last (bottom) line in the text element. It worked fine elsewhere in the text.

Thanks,
Christopher

@whitemedia, I missed that part of your message, I apologize! No, I am not able to recreate that, but also with this z-index fix in perhaps it addressed that as well? I don’t see anything like a shake in the words either.

Hi @kory,

I have managed to capture a short video of the behaviour of the flickering control to give you a better idea of what I was trying to describe. the text has been highlighted and the hyperlink button in the visual editor has been clicked. With luck, the z-index fix will have rectified it.

Thanks,
Christopher

Thanks for this…yes, I cannot replicate this exactly but a z-index fix has been implemented, so hopefully that should take care of things!
