Pro 6.0 - Duplicating Component With Parameters Not Exporting To Element List

Hi @charlie and @kory,

I hope I am ok posting this in the Beta forum, as it is not really a general support question and probably needs your expertise! :grinning:

I am using full release Pro 6.0 (not a beta version). I have created a brand new Component, which consists of the following hierarchy:

    <headline>
    <form integration>

The div has parameters set for the Headline, so that the heading can be altered, if necessary, on the page the Component is used on.

As the Form Integration cannot have the form set dynamically, I am creating three versions of the component, by duplicating the original version of the Component. I then edit the name of the Component itself and also the Manage Element > Edit Label for the Export process.

However, despite doing all this successfully, only the original Component is exported to the Components section of the Elements list. The other two do not export. There should be one for Payroll and another for Tax Returns.

Is this a known bug or have I missed a step?

Great to hear you are on v6, let the good times roll. So you duplicated a component workspace? And then doing another export does not export when you are on the new component workspace? Does clearing the system cache do anything?
If it’s the duplication that’s causing the issue I’ll try to recreate in a bit. If not It’ll help me a lot to get a secure note from you to check it out live.
It sort of sounds like you want to use prefab, does that help at all?

Hi @charlie, v6 is an incredible effort by you guys. I love it!

Clearing system cache makes no difference.

I have clicked on prefab for one of the Components and still no joy. More details in a Secure Note.

Yeah I think it’s using the same internal ID when you duplicate a component workspace. We’ll get that fixed and apologies for the inconvenience.
In the meantime if you create a new component workspace, and copy the element from the component workspace that does not work you’ll be able to get your forms showing up in the element list. I added “Payroll2”.

@charlie, am I being stupid here? I have created a new Component and am trying to use the “Clone Existing” option to pull in the other Component so I can export it. “Clone Existing” seems to do nothing at all, despite the success message. I maybe doing this wrong as I am not sure otherwise how to copy the element from the workspace that does not work.
