Pro 5.1 RC2 slider flicker on iPhone

I couldn’t find this mentioned on the forum. I think it’s important to fix as it’s an obvious visual issue.

Slide flicker happens on iPhone 12 Max on the Chrome app.

I don’t see the issue on Chrome desktop

Here is a video demonstrating flicker even after the carousel has looped around.

Thanks,
Clint

Hi Clint,

I’ve rewritten how the carousel logic works to fix some performance issues. I haven’t seen this issue at all, but it could be resolved with RC3. Let me know if you’re still seeing it after we push the update. Thank you!

Thanks Alex, the pop in image isn’t occurring now.

It is very good but I’m find a number of issues. I have recorded gifs in this google doc.

I’d also suggest that if there is thumb swiping, somehow detect that and don’t activate anchor clicks as they would be unintended while swiping.

Maybe also need a “active/inactive” toggle for the editor so that slide can be worked on without it sliding unless I missed that setting.

Thanks! I’ll followup once I’ve checked into those in more details.

If a drag interaction is happening, links won’t be followed so I think this one is just a matter of structuring the content for each use case. You could opt to not include links in the slides, or if you do, you could turn off dragging.

We don’t have anything like this, but definitely a good idea. We’ll keep this in mind.

Hi @Futurised1,

Hope you’re doing well. I’m sorry for not following up here before the release. Most of these issues are sorted out. Regarding the first one about “per page” this is actually the intended behavior. We did this to make sure the same slides are always grouped together which is more important when you have a clearly defined active state. You’re right though, it doesn’t work well combined with carousel mode. If you’re doing a carousel, it’s best to have a number of slides evenly divisible by the “per page” number.

Hi Alex,

I don’t receive notifications here, sorry about the delay. Hope you’re well too.

I’ve updated the google doc with the current issue where it’s not possible to drag a slide if it has a link. I think it’s been mentioned before. If this doesn’t work, maybe an option to disable drag on desktop, as drag works on mobile with the same setup.

Desktop issue is it accelerates very quickly and always in only one direction.

Also evenly divisible isn’t really a possible solution, because if the data is coming from a database, or if it’s a list of logo affiliates that a client can add extra logos too, it would then fail, and it’s not possible to advise a client not to edit their site or to tell them to keep the logos divisible. Hopefully that can be solved in future.

Thanks,
Clint

Thanks Clint, I’m sorry for missing this. We’re focused on getting components/parameters out at the moment so I’ve added the notes to a few things we’ve collected for Sliders in our backlog. I don’t have an ETA on when it will be revisited though.

Thanks Alex. I’ve tested components in the beta. Looking forward to the final version.

Thank you!
