Pro 5.0.7 - upgrading from Pro 4.3.3 to Pro 5.0.7 breaks Theme My Login

I attempted to upgrade a site today. It is a super simple site but it uses Theme My Login. As soon as the upgrade was completed none of the Theme My Login pages work.

This means people that are registered can’t login etc. the pages just never load at all.

I have reverted to Pro 4

Hi @urchindesign,

That’s not a plugin we integrate with or support for compatibility so you may need to do some extra troubleshooting to find out why it stopped working. It could be any number of different things. If you have a site that doesn’t work, I wouldn’t mind taking a quick look but unfortunately can’t promise it will remain compatible.

That would be greatly appreciated. I’ll need to move the site to my test server tomorrow. Then I can also have look and if I don’t come right I’ll add a secure note. On a tight schedule tonight (I’m GMT+2).

Do you recommend something else maybe?
Or is it possible to build the pages with Pro. (Haven’t delved into it much).

Sounds good, just follow up here whenever I can see the problem happening.

Honestly I’ve never played around much with plugins or systems that change the login page or how those processes work, so I can’t make a recommendation there.

The site is really simple and you can do what you like with it.

I have moved the site to my test domain, here are the errors:

Warning : include(template-blank-4.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/urchinwe/xxxx/wp-includes/template-loader.php on line 106

Warning : include(): Failed opening ‘template-blank-4.php’ for inclusion (include_path=’.:/opt/alt/php74/usr/share/pear’) in /home/urchinwe/xxx/wp-includes/template-loader.php on line 106

The page does load fine as soon as I deactivate Theme My Login.

I also deactivated all plugins except Theme My Login and the problem remains.

Hi @urchindesign,

I’ve taken a look, and I even tried setting up a Layout in the Layout builder to handle it. Unfortunately I don’t see a way to make it work. Considering we don’t support this plugin I can’t look into it any further at the moment. That said, I’m making a note to check it one more time this cycle.

We’re going to be adding a setting in the Layout builder that will make a Single layout appear as an option under “Page Template”. This will help make page template assignments more natural since the WordPress convention can be followed. With the Theme Options reboot, there won’t be “No Container | No Header
No Footer” named template permutations. Instead, actual Layouts will be created dynamically.

I can’t promise we can make things compatible, because I’ll have to revisit our template routing that in the near future, I’ll take another pass at seeing if we can clear up what’s going on with Theme My Login.
