Preview could not load - Error

Hi,

After fixing an "cURL error 60: issue a couple of days ago (using the add function) I now have “The preview could not load” error when i go to edit pages.

I have read other threads on this and NONE of the suggestions worked. I have turned off all plugins and empty cache etc and nothing worked. The Theme is up to date and PHP is up to date as well.

Can you fix this for me? (I’ve given you access in the secure note)

Hi @alandoyle,

Thanks for reaching out!

Your website is experiencing some technical issues and we can’t log in to your WP admin dashboard.

That being said, I suggest that you share with us your FTP access.

Cheers!

Thanks. I’m not sure why you can’t get in - it works here. I’ll get the hosting company to allow it.

FTP details attached in secure note.

Thanks

Hey @alandoyle,

Accessing /wp-admin or /wp-login.php is redirecting me to a page not found. I believe that you change your WP admin URL to something else. Would you mind sharing it with us so that we can check the backend settings properly? Currently, the error was already gone on your website but showing a white blank space.

Thank you.

When I put in the URL I sent you it brings me to the Wordpress login and I can login no problem. I’ve added here again in the url. It work for me. Can u check if this works?

When left work and the site had the generic post content up but now it has a completely white page. Don’t know why this has happened.

(I’ve turned on the Under Construction plugin and that is now showing.)

Hello Avalancher,

I am another staff checking in and I also cannot login. It seems that it always redirects.

Please double and temporarily disable any login related plugins if you have installed one.

Thank you.

There is no login related plug-ins on the site. As mentioned already I am able to log into the site.

I’ll speak with the hosting company and see if they are blocking your location

Hello Avalancher,

I am another staff I tried to access your site dashboard but it is not accessible, it seems that the admin URL is redirecting to the coming soon page. Please recheck and let us know when it is accessible.

Thanks

Hi. I’m using the under construction plugin. I have now removed this. When I enter the URL the entire page is now white.

Maybe access is been blocked because your country is not whitelisted. Can you tell me where you are accessing the site from so I can get it whitelisted? (The hosting company needs to know)

Hello Avalancher,

Sorry, but we are from different parts of the World. I would suggest you remove the IP(s) restrictions for the country or you can copy your live site to a staging server without IP restrictions, so we could troubleshoot freely without breaking your site.

Thanks

My hosting company insists that we tell them the country even if it is 3 or 4. Please advise.

Hey Avalancher,

Our staffs are from the US, UK, India, Philippines, Pakistan, and 4 more other countries. I am from the Philippines checking your site at the moment.

Best Regards.

Hi. I got this from the hosting company (I gave you ftp details earlier in this tread on a secure note). Hopefully this will give you the access you need to fix the issue. …

The most likely cause is a geoip block which can be resolved by editing .htaccess as per:

https://help.blacknight.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001253509-Protection-For-Common-Login-Areas

If they have FTP access they can make the changes themselves by editing the .htaccess file in the root folder.

By the way, I took the site down, reinstalled Wordpress, installed the theme and got the exact same problems as before. I had to add a child theme, even though I didn’t need it. I had to fix the issue to validate the license. I then tried to edit a page and got the preview issue. I have no plug-ins installed.!!

I really need to get this fixed. Thanks

Hey Avalancher,

Setting up htaccess is not a service included in our theme support. If your web host can’t set it up, you will need to hire someone to set it up. That is why we recommended copying your live site to a staging server without IP restriction.

The issue you’re experiencing is a web host or server setup issue or conflict. It looks like the web host setup is unusual especially for WordPress sites. For instance, your site is enclosed in a box. To first prove that it’s our theme causing that, please switch to the default WordPress theme and check if your site’s still in a box. The reason for that is if it’s still in a box, the builder preview won’t really work because that means your site display is being taken elsewhere. Cornerstone cannot work with redirected domains (see screenshots in the secure note).

Thanks.

Thanks Christian for that. I have asked my provider to white list some countries so you can look into this more

As tried out ur request… “To first prove that it’s our theme causing that, please switch to the default WordPress theme and check if your site’s still in a box.”, I did that and the default Wordpress theme displayed perfectly (not in a box). See below.

Does this help you fix the issue? (It may be Monday morning here before my hosting company whitelists you)

Hello Avalancher,

We will wait until we will be whitelisted so that one of our staff can log in and investigate your issue. In the meantime, please check out this documentation for the most common issues and how to troubleshoot the warning messages in the builder:

Cheers.

We have whietlisted ur support countries. Hopefully you can now access the website and find what is causing this issue.

Thanks

Hi Avalancher,

I check your website and it is showing a 500 internal server error. That issue has something to do with your server, I suggest that you reach out to your hosting provider and ask for help to fix the issue. Once they fix it, we can now evaluate or investigate the issue on your website.

Thank you.

Thanks Marc. I’ve sent them your note and I’ll come back to you soon.

Hi Avalancher,

Great and let us know how it goes.

Thank you.
