Posts Page wont change/show design

Hi,

I am by no means an experienced web designer. So, if this sounds silly to some, I am losing my mind for several hours already.

I have the problem with Posts Page. Now, I know that this page has issues because WordPress does some voodoo etc. I know I can’t edit the page and it wont show in Content tab (in Cornerstone) unless I go to Settings>Reading>Posts Page and choose ----Select----.

My problem is that when I try to edit an already built page from Icon template, or for that matter build a brand new page with my own elements and design, it won’t show that design when I select that Posts Page. Everything is fine and design works if there is no dedicated Posts Page. But when I am done with the design and I go back to Settings>Reading>Posts Page and choose Blog/News/Articles or whatever I call that Posts Page page, the design goes back to ugly WordPress basic.

Help me keep my sanity. What I am doing wrong?!

Hello Peteris,

Thanks for writing in!

Please be advised that on any page assigned as your Posts Page, all of the page contents will be discarded and WordPress will just dynamically generate the post items into the blog index. Even if you have created the page in Cornerstone, once you have assigned it as your blog page or Posts Page, the content created in Cornerstone will be discarded and replaced with the post items generated by WordPress. This is also true even if you use the WordPress default editor. Your only option is to rely on the built-in post layout design in the theme. You may be able to tweak some of the options by going to X > Theme Options > Stack > Blog Options and in X > Theme Options > Blog.

If in case you want to design a custom layout for the blog index, you may upgrade to the Pro theme and utilize the newly launched Layout Builder. Please check out this documentation:

Best Regards.
