There’s noticeable lag when typing in the FA search box. I’m seeing [Violation] 'message' handler took 1452ms messages in the console related to react.min.js.
Edit: There’s also lag when clicking to open the FA panel.
You’ll see a very slight performance update in beta2. The fact sharp is enabled by default was a testing leftover, and in general the less icons the faster it’ll be.
In beta 2 it is indeed noticeably better. The only exception being the all category which is still very slow, but that is probably to be expected when most or all categories are active.
The menu item icon dropdown in the WordPress menu page is also very laggy. Selecting an icon there really is no fun.
Yeah that’s pretty bad. I’m going to switch this to a datalist tag and if we need to go further we can. It was more acceptable with that control. Have a great weekend!

One small issue has arisen with this change, the arrow in the select box isn’t properly aligned now.

Yeah I can position that better. Didn’t see that on Chrome at first, but FF doesn’t have that at all I guess. Have a great weekend!
