Page templates gone from "Page attributes"

Hello, I just updated the theme and now there is no “page template” option (eg. blank, container, etc.) under page attributes. I’m still seeing the template references in the theme files, but they are no longer accessible where they use to be. Help?

Hi @mosaicbc

Could you please check that you are looking at the Page Editor not the Post Editor as Posts doesn’t have page templates?

Also, clear your browser cache and purge the cache from any caching plugin you might have, if this didn’t help, then please provide us with WordPress Dashboard login details in a “Secure Note” so we can investigate this issue.

Thanks.

Hi there,

There seems to be an issue with how you setup your theme. You have edited the parent theme’s style.css and set it as a child theme.

Child themes should be installed separately and activated and all customization should be done there and not to the parent theme.

First, please backup your site and install the correct child theme:

https://theme.co/apex/child-themes

Then place back the original code of the parent theme that you have edited. Copy all the files that you customized and placed it to the child theme.

Once it’s all setup correctly, you should be able to update X because your Cornerstone is updated to the latest version but your X version is not which causes an incompatibility issue.

Hope this helps.

Okay, I’ll give that a shot. Thanks!!!

You’re most welcome!

I’m all set. Thank you very, very much for your prompt and excellent help to get this resolved!!!

We are delighted to assist you with this.

Cheers!
