Page Preview search not functioning properly

Hi!

In the page preview, when I try to search for a particular page based on its title, it often doesn’t get prioritized, and sometimes not even returned.

If a page starts with a certain word or contains it, as soon as we start typing inside the search, that page should show up at the top.

Thanks!

Thanks! I’m not sure what’s going on there but we’ll check it out. It’s just using the WordPress s parameter of WP_Query for searching so it should be prioritized and resolved just like a front end search.

Hi @alexander, to further expand on this, the other day I was working on a shop with a lot of products.

Searchihg a product wasn’t returning anything, but if I scroll for a long time and let all the products load, then the search starts working.

Also, site owners tend to name products, categories, tags and other post types often the same way. It creates quiet a mess with so much duplicate names. Maybe you could set some kind of an indication in the future, about what exact post type or taxonomy is the result about? Or perhaps display a small gray slug below the Post name?

Thanks!

Ok, thanks for the additional info here. Yeah, we need to redo that fuzzy filter component. We’re using a library for it that’s challenging to customize so we’ll probably just make our own, that way we have more control over the styling/formatting and we could put little tags inside it so results with similar titles can be distinguished from each other.
