Page corrupted when trying to translate with WPML

I’ve asked to WPML support. They say: “page is corrupt for some reason and it is not possible to use the method theme developers meant to use”: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/i-cant-duplicate-a-page/

I’ve try to duplicate: https://www.edinventa.com/en/heromask-languages/
To create another exact page: https://www.edinventa.com/en-us/

Unfortunately, after I few attempts I don’t know why /en-us/heromask-languages/ doesn’t seem to exist and empty /en-US/heromask-languages-2/ has been created instead.

I’ve recorded a video to show you: https://d.pr/v/Xior5D

Any idea about of to fix the corrupt page?

Thanks

Carlos

Hey Carlos,

The page or post must not be duplicated using WPML or any of WPML’s translation methods if you wish to edit with Pro. Instead, when you want to translate the page, you should use the Translation Flags in the builder directly as that would create the translated pages which are editable by Pro.

Hope that helps.

I know: on the video I shared with you (starting in minute 1), you can see that I’ve tried that too.

But as you can see on the video: it’s not working either.

The menu to duplicate the page is not shown. This menu is not shown:

Hey Carlos,

The page you wanted to translate with Pro was already translated by WPML that’s why it didn’t work.

I’ve recorded a video (posted in the secure note) so you’ll see the Pro Translation Flags work provided that you do not translate with WPML first. That means that you need to delete all WPML translations if you want to translate with Pro. For new pages, translate using the Translation Flags right away and don’t translate with WPML.

Please contact the WPML support if you have trouble deleting the WPML translated pages.

Thanks.

Thanks for your video and taking a look.

OK: the way to use WPML with the PRO theme is by editing with Pro and translating by inside its editor.

But as you notice: it’s not working. I don’t know how to delete the WPML translated pages (I tried that too). So I’m writing them with this new info here: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/i-cant-duplicate-a-page/

Thanks!

Hey Carlos,

Let me make it clear first that translation within Pro builders using the Translation Flags is working.

What doesn’t work is the page that’s already translated by WPML. Pro has nothing to do with that part.

Now, I checked your site again and saw the Heromask Languages page is now clear of translations. I edited and translated it with Pro like the new page I’ve shown you and it works (check the video in the secure note).

So again, delete all page translations and also disable WPML Translation Editor. Refer to WPML’s documentation or contact WPML support to learn how to do those.
