Osborne-optics not able to edit Navigation Modal

Hello,

I am trying to use the osborne-optics header, but the Navigation Modal is not able to be modified. It says “you do not have permission to inspect this element type”. However if I make a new Navigation Modal I can edit it. However I can’t get it to the top right corner where the one in the osborne-optics design is. Also there is no way magnifying glass like all the other elements to go into this setting of the Navigation Modal. This seems like an error to me. How do I fix it, or how do I make a new Navigation Modal go to the top right position in this template?

Thanks in advance!

I figured out that it’s the Bar Element CSS that has custom code in it putting the Navigation Modal in the upper corner…but how do I edit the content of the Navigation Modal?

Hello @blue_light_studio,

Thanks for writing in! You must be using the deprecated Navigation element. Please go to Cornerstone > Settings > Permissions > Elements and make sure to enable the “Navigation” deprecated element.

Best Regards.

Amazing, this totally worked! Just so I have an idea of what that did and why it didn’t work before, what does the Deprecated mean in this context?

Thanks for the help!!

Hello @blue_light_studio,

It is an older version of the element and we updated these features in the newer version element in place of the older version of the element just because it is deprecated and not enabled by default in the element list.

Hope it helps
Thanks

I see, thanks!

Would it be better to update this element to the newer version?

I also need help to keep this Navigation Modal on the upper right part of the screen as I scroll down. Currently I think the CSS that was in the template put it up there in the corner, which is where I want it, but as I scroll down into the page I still want it to stay in that position so it can be clicked on at any time.

Here is an example of how I want it to operate. https://monarchstudios.com/

Can you tell me the best way to do this?

Thanks!

Hello @blue_light_studio,

You can edit your header and use the Modal element or the Navigation Modal instead. Those deprecated elements will no longer have updates.

I think you already have the Navigation Modal in place because when I scroll the page, it stays in its position.

Thanks,

Thanks again. I think I explained wrong. I want the position of the Navigation modal to be where it was in the template (upper right corner of the screen), but I want it to “float” there and stay as you scroll down into the page. However right now it stays in the same place relative to the picture in the middle and you can’t see it as soon as you scroll down.

I’ve deleted the old Navigation Modal, and put in a new one. With the new one it defaults to being somewhere in the container. I don’t know how to move it to the top right where the Osborne template had it. I also don’t know how to make it so it remains on the top right of the screen so you can see and use it even when you’re at the very bottom of the page.

It’s a bit hard to explain hopefully this makes sense.

  1. How do I move the position of the new Navigation Modal to the upper right side of the screen
  2. How do I make it remain in the same position (of the user screen, not location on webpage) as I scroll down the page.

I published the page I’m working on so you can see it.

Page I’m working on - The Navigation Modal is currently right above the words Blue Light Studio

Example of someone else’s site where the Navigation Modal does exactly what I want. This is what I want to mine to behave light, as well the position.

Thanks!

I figured out a work around! Thanks.

Hey @blue_light_studio,

It is good to know that you have resolved the issue already.

Cheers.
