Opening a newly created layout results in an empty builder (no starter templates, etc) – Beta 5

Repro:

  1. Open the drop down menu
  2. Click Layouts
  3. Click +
  4. Add a title, and select WooCommerce Archive (I’ve only tested with this specific combo)
  5. Click Create Layout
  6. Click the “edit” button to select that new layout

Observed:
The new layout will load, however it does not show the starter templates, there is nothing in the inspector nor builder. In the screenshot here, the “Shop 249” is a header bar, followed immediately by the Acme footer. A refresh immediately brings the starter template options to the page.

I got this too, but coming out and back in again seemed to sort it… obviously something not quite right still

Thanks! This nasty bug has popped up in a few threads since there are a handful of ways to trigger it. If you run into that, just refresh in-place and you’ll be fine. It happens sometimes when there’s network activity and it’s trying to load a new builder. Will confirm here when it’s resolved.

Quick update: This has finally been addressed. Cleaned up a bunch in terms of how the builder navigation works.
