Off canvas menus on mobile devices not functioning properly

Hi there, I recently posted about nav menus on mobile devices not functioning properly. I think my last post was confusing and misled the problem I’m having. https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/mobile-menu-double-tap-issue/66147

I have tested this on several iOS devices and browsers (see below) and they perform in the same way. On my site https://compatiblecards.com/ on a mobile device if you go to the off-canvas nav menu it gives you the list of items. Now if you were to click once on an item in the list without scrolling down through the menu - for example the first one in the list - you will find it doesn’t go to the link. It’s only when a second click happens on the same item that the page starts to load. I have noticed that if you touch or scroll anywhere on the menu area then this counts as the first “click” and when you select an item it will go through the link seemingly on the first click (when it’s actually the second). Any ideas why this happens?

I hope this makes sense as I am very confused. I am using an iPhone 7 and iPhone X on iOS 13.3 and I’ve tried Safari, Chrome and Firefox mobile web browsers. All perform same results.

Can you please update to the latest versions? Our latest versions are:

  • Pro theme 3.1.2
  • WordPress 5.3.2

This latest release contains fixes for several issues so be sure to check out the changelog (http://theme.co/changelog/).

After doing the updates, always remember to clear all caches (if you are using WP Rocket, WP SuperCache or W3 Total Cache) when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

Meanwhile, please edit your header and then make sure that the sub menu trigger is the sub indicator:

Thanks for your response. I have updated to the latest versions of WordPress and Pro theme. I have also switched the sub menu trigger to sub indicator. Unfortunately the problem still occurs.

Hello @seepops,

When I checked your site and I only seeing this.

I can click the links in your off canvas menu with just one tap with no issues. You might be experiencing browser cache problems. Please clear your iPhone’s browser cache or use private browsing mode and test your site again.
