No Preview for the Text Element

We’re having issues with the text element no longer showing the text in the editor’s preview pane. We’ve tested for plugin conflicts, but none can be found (see image for how all of our text appears when dragged onto the page).

  • Using the latest beta X v6.6.0-RC4
  • All plugins up to date.
  • We deactivated all other plugins which did not resolve the issue.
  • We refreshed the entire install which did not resolve the issue.
  • Tested with multiple machines.
  • Tested with multiple browsers.
  • WP Engine Hosting.

Hi there,

Would you mind allowing me to login to check this out on your site? If this is ok, please add login credentials using the “Secure Note” button. We had reports of this with a previous iteration but I thought it was fixed - there must be some other edge case triggering it here. Thank you!

I’ve catched one thing.You remember symbol issue? Then it happens - new and duplicated elements stops to render. Maybe this things are interconnected. Just an assumption.

I was just testing the Color Picker and all the text on the page suddenly stopped rendering. Had to reload the page to get it back.

Also, loading the page now shows unrendered text for 4-5 seconds. This wasn’t the case. (Not a big deal).

Also, now clicking the Text elements causes them to flash the unrendered preview for a second. (Not always but often).

In my case it was button elements.

Thanks everyone. Let me know if you don’t mind, if there are any errors in the javascript console when that happens. Usually discrepancies in the preview are because some race condition causes an unrecoverable error which is logged to the console.

Tim, I understand about your client’s hesitation. If anything comes to mind on how to reproduce the issue let me know. How about a template? Would it be ok to save a template from the page and send that to me? Meanwhile, I’ll keep trying ways to reproduce this. Still haven’t been able to trigger it.
