New User Trouble

Hello,

I just bought and downloaded and installed X Theme on my Wordpress. I watched a tutorial and they said I also need to install x-child, but I can’t find x-child.zip in the downloaded documents - anywhere whatsoever.

I also just bought the X Pro upgrade but it doesn’t tell me what to do with it. Do I have to download and install it seperately? Or does it activate automatically? What do I do with that?

Thank you for your help.

Hi Petr,

Thanks for reaching out!

You can download the X and Pro child theme in the link below.

X and Pro are two different products. If you have both themes under your account, I suggest that you use the Pro because it has so many advance features, you can check the different between X and Pro in the link below.

Hope that helps.

Hello Marc,

Thank you for replying. For some reason I didn’t notice that there was the download button on the main screen when I log into theme.co so I downloaded Pro from there even before you replid. But from what I can tell is not the Pro-Child theme.

Is this a big deal? I’ve already started work on my project just by installing Pro itself and editing everything directly in it instead of in Pro-Child.

If I indeed should use the Pro child theme, is there a way to install it without losing all the data and work I put into the Pro itself?

The other trouble I have right now is that I am stuck on editing the main Blog page, not the main landing page of my website, but the page that shows all the newest blog posts, etc.

For some reason it has the title “The Blog - Welcome to our little corner of the Internet. Kick your feet up and stay a while.” (see attached screensnip)

I can’t figure out where to edit this top of the blog page, it doesn’t allow in Cornerstone or anywhere else. Thanks.

Hello Petr,

Thank you for the very detailed post.

1.) You can change the Blog Title and subtitle in Cornerstone > Theme Options > Stack > Blog Options.

2.) As for your child theme, you may install the child theme without losing any data or changes as long as you did not modify any of the parent theme files. Did you add any custom PHP codes in the functions.php files or have modified any template files? If the answer is NO, then installing or activating the child theme is very much safe.

Best Regards.
