Need to validate my theme license for staging?

Hi there, I recently created a staging environment through WPEngine to test changes on my site. I saw that I need to validate my license on the staging site, is that still necessary since it’s just for testing changes? Do I pay extra to validate another license on the staging environment, and if so, what happens if I don’t validate it?

Thank you for writing in, you can assign the same license to both production and staging URL.

Please navigate to your licenses page and assign a production and staging URL to your license(s).
