Need help Getting Started

I have just installed Pro into a fresh, local Wordpress installation on my Mac using the Local by Freewheel application to create a development environment, and imported the Silvertooth Creative (Agency) theme as well as the two plugins recommended when I installed the theme, to use as a starting point. Unfortunately, I cannot seem to figure out how to make any real changes to that theme. I have tried to delete certain sections, change colors in some areas or make any real modifications to the design.

I have looked at several YouTube videos on getting started but they are all several years old and I suspect the Pro software has changed since then as they cal it X Pro. I have also searched the Docs and the Forum but can’t find anything recent that explains how to get started.

I am not a professional developer but have worked in Wordpress for several years and have used a couple of page builders before but this seems harder to use.

My first question is, in the Wordpress admin area there is an entry for Pro and a separate one for Cornerstone. In some of the more recent videos I have watched, I don’t see Cornerstone in the Menu as it is supposed to be built in to Pro. If I click on Pro, I just get this screen;

If I click on Cornerstone, I get a screen with sections that say Settings, System, Permissions and General.

Is this right? The videos seem to show different screens. Did I do something wrong in the installation?

I do not see any of the editing controls that I see in some of the videos and can’t find a way to modify the sample theme. For example, the Silvertooth Creative sample has a large logo above the menu. I cannot find a way to change the logo or eliminate it, and eliminate that large area above the menu. If I go into the Header Builder, I get a message, No Header Found. Each sample post in the Posts library is listed 3 times each.

Basically, I cannot seem to do anything.

Perhaps I misunderstand how Pro is supposed to work. Do I need to build everything from scratch? Did I install the wrong theme (Silverooth Creative)?

Is there a reference you can point me to that will give a more detailed explanation on how to best get started with a design? Should I delete all of the pages, posts and media that is now in the Wordpress admin area and start over again?

I know I am asking a lot but the Pro theme does not appear to be as user friendly as I had hoped. I would like to better understand it as it is clearly a very powerful product and I think once I get started, I will be able to product excellent results. As you can see, I really need help getting started.

As for the Silvertooth Creative (Agency) site demo, it is just using a default header and footer. In order to change something in the default header or default footer, you will to go to Cornerstone > Theme Options > Headers or Cornerstone > Theme Options > Footer. And if you want to create some more of a custom header or custom footer, then the Cornerstone > Header Builder and the Cornerstone > Footer Builder can help you.

We have several tutorials in our Youtube channel that might help you get started after you have full understanding of the terms used in the videos.

I do believe I understand the difference between X and Pro and made the decision that Pro was best for me. I also understand what Cornerstone is.

That said, in the Docs description of Cornerstone it says, , * Header Builder: (Pro only) This builder is used to create the header of the website. Go to WordPress Dashboard → Pro → Headers to access the Header Builder.

I don’t have that option in my Wordpress admin panel. When I click on Pro, I get a screen that just has general details about Updates, Support and Design Cloud. There is nothing about actually designing or modifying a site. Please see the screen shot in my original post.

This seems different from what is shown in you videos and is different from you documentation.

Before, you go to Pro > Headers but now, you can access the header builder in Cornerstone > Header Builder. You may need to check this out:
