I know that WPML is the recommended multilingual plug-in for Pro and it is the one I use myself. But I hope that the next release or one of the subsequent ones can have even better integration with WPML. Currently not all of the WPML features are supported by Pro, where as other page builders like Elementor are much better integrated with it.
What do you miss for example?
I don’t know what the name of the feature is in WPML, but when you use other editors you can use the translation system that looks like this, where it detects text and you supply the translation. It’s fast, easy, and just works.
When using Cornerstone there is no compatibility for this, so you have to make a duplicate of the page within the Cornerstone interface.
The problem then is that every time you make a change to that page in the future you have to then duplicate those changes for every language that your site has. This just multiplies work and is a real shame. I’ve used Pro exclusively for many years and don’t want to or intend to change over, but Elementor can work with WPML in the same as you would regular WordPress pages and posts.
As a side note, I was using Elementor on someone else’s site this week and that also integrates well with RankMath, which Cornerstone still doesn’t seem to yet.
I dont get it, if you have changes on that page you still need to translate these changes in the translated page as well? So what is the difference between the wpml interface and cornerstone?
I like the way how to translate pages with cornerstone, because I can create a completely different page in another language. If you have a website with a more static content, you can give TranslatePress a try.
For changes in text it’s no extra work. But if the customer asks me to make design changes to the page, then it multiplies.
I like being able to do it both ways, so it would be nice if Cornerstone supported that.
I will have a look at TranslatePress, thanks for the tip.
In a way creating things as components and having the text be a parameter for designs that are duplicate not just a single page but all sorts of places would help resolve this as my understanding when finished the idea is you can edit that component in one place such as design you mention and would change everywhere else. Hence looking forward to beta phase.
Yes ! Me too. But it’s invite only this time
