Modern Slider - Stacked Testimonial Slider

Hi. While I appreciate the videos and the attention to detail they provide, ALL the guy talked about was how he designed the slider. All fine and good, but I’m not that well-versed, so it’d be nice to know how to simply edit the actual testimonials - the most basic function of the slider.

The only thing I got from it was editing the text directly in the Looper, but for the life of me I could not make sense of the code for the image!

Is there any documentation for these sliders??

If not, please tell me how to change the images in the Stacked Testimonial Slider.

Thank you!

Hello Rick,

Thanks for writing in!

The video training in creating the Stacked Testimonial Slider can be found in your Themeco account.

If you are looking for the Testimonial documentation, you can find it here:

Best Regards.

Like I said in my original post, the video says everything BUT the basics of the slider - changing the photo, etc.

Also, your link is to the standard Themeco testimonial. I am referring to the new Modern Sliders Stacked Testimonial.

Can you please provide THAT info?

Hey Rick,

We’re very sorry for the lack of info. There are no “basics” in the course because they are like an expansion so it’s assumed you already know the controls of Pro. Also, it’s powered by Looper feature so that the import file would be compact and small.

To get rid of the code and use the visual controls in the builder instead, you must first disable the Looper Provider set in the Stacked Testimonial Slider element. Follow the click sequence shown in the screenshots below.

The slider preview would look empty but it’s ok.

You can now edit the elements within the Slide element using basic controls. So, for the Image element, follow the setup instruction or the documentation here https://theme.co/docs/image

For the testimonial text, edit the Text element and replace the code content with simple text.

The next step would be to duplicate the Slide element but before that, it’s best to disable the Looper Consumer. To do that, inspect the Slide element and open the Customize options as you did with the Looper Provider.

You can now duplicate the Slide element and edit the new slides.

Hope that helps and let us know what else you need.

I think the potential for these sliders is amazing - but I agree with Rick (above) - there are some pretty big assumptions being made from the development team that users have enough of a Cornerstone foundation to be able to pull off the content building of these sliders. I have been using X/Pro for years - so not really a novice - and I’m having a hard time figuring this out.

IMO - there should have been a newbie video made if you have no previous knowledge of said ‘Looper Feature’. So now to use these sliders I need to spend hours figuring out how Loopers work? That level of knowledge (as a requirement) was not clearly communicate at the point of purchase. And if it was I totally missed it.
