Modern Slider Feedback and Questions - Effects

dear themeco team!

i spend the sunday finally working with the fantastic modern silders and the preset pack which i bought a while ago. here is some feedback and some questions:

it took me over half an hour to figure out how to load a preset into the slider/page. this is not very intuitive. especially because at the very bottom of the settings (verical pane) is a setting called presets which is not being used for that…

also other settings are not too easy to figure out without the documention. i know its complex in the settings but i was hoping to finally be able to replace the cumbersome revelution slider with modern sliders. i will stick for now with the modern silders

then i have some questions:
very simple questions actually. how to set the “blend-mode” between the slides? i can set the time but not the change-effect. in the end i would love to have a slider like this one:

not full screen, though. only the size of the slides placed inside the content.
is that possible at all?

also the slider (autoplay-progress-slider) does not scale the pictures evenly down on smaller screens. ist that possible at all? i also need the original picture size and dimensions displayed 1:1 and setting the height to a fixed value does not scale the picture evenly. only cuts off the edges left and right.

Hey Kai,

There is no blend-mode setting in between slides. What you can do is set the Entrance and Exit to Effect and set the Scroll Effects of the Slide element. You can learn more from the Slider documentation here: https://theme.co/docs/sliders#options-controls-stacked

What will happen is those Entrance and Exit Scroll Effects of the Slide element will kick in while the slide transitions to the next slide.

Regarding the Autoplay Progress Slider, it can be scaled but it’s tricky or require many steps. Basically, you’ll want all vertical spaces like Top and Bottom Paddings and Margins to be a percentage value and all contents within the slide must be scaled too.

Notice in the screenshots below that the slide is similar in aspect ratio because I’ve set the Slide element’s top padding to 30% from Dekstop to Mobile then changed the Font Size of the Title and Description differently per screen size.

I said “similar in aspect ratio” because it’ll take some time to make it perfect meaning the Slide’s aspect ratio remain the same from desktop to mobile.

also configuring the correct scaling of the pictures will drive me mad - i am sure when i read your description.
so both (actually very simple and common effects/options) are not possible with modern silder as you say. so i will have to use the huge and cumbersome revolution slider again.
for the next porject i will try modern slider again. since it is light weight and well integrated in the theme!

Regretfully, what you need is not possible so yes, Slider Revolution would still be best if you need complex effects and transitions.

thanks for your feedback!
but saying this https://normcph.com is a complex effect is a little exaggerated i find.
modern silders leaves me now a little disappointed from the possibilities (you stress on the website that it is very very versatile) and also from the easy of use. i still have a dozend question after using it for a whole day. will come back to you soon
