I am using X Theme Version: 6.5.5 with X Child Theme. I just updated MEC this morning to 4.4.0 and found out it causes the on-site search to return no results. I currently have the plugin deactivated as the search function is a vital feature on our website. Just wanted to pass this along and see if anyone else was having a similar issue.

This latest release contains fixes for several issues so be sure to check out the changelog (http://theme.co/changelog/).
_After doing the updates, always remember to clear all caches (if you are using WP Rocket, WP SuperCache or W3 Total Cache) when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.-

I updated X Theme 6.5.6 and Cornerstone 3.5.5. I tried activating MEC no luck, but it’s also broke my site’s search more. I noticed the change after I installed Cornerstone 3.5.5. Now my search results are duplicated. I cleared my browser cache multiple times and since my site is hosted on Wordpress.com, I have contacted the support team to clear my cache. I have deactivated all other plugins except Cornerstone, stopped using my X Child Theme and went back to the original X Theme and it’s still happening. Please see the screenshot below
Once I deactivate Cornerstone the search results reflect normally.
I was able to figure out why Cornerstone was duplicating results from another post. I wish this was in the release notes under “confirmed issues” especially since it wasn’t in the changelog. Since it seems like other people are having the same issue.
Once I activated Modern Events Calendar it seems to be working okay but I use the 3rd Party Plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/search-by-sku-for-woocommerce/ suggested by many on here to have Cornerstone Search search by SKU, it seems to not locate any results which is very important to our site. I assume because it’s a 3rd party plugin I’m kind of stuck. So I think I’ll just have to keep MEC deactivated for now, unless the ThemeCo team has another suggestion.

Glad you have figured out the duplicating search results issue. We are sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you. A fix will be available on the next release.
Regarding the other issue, unfortunately, yes it would be better to consult the third plugin developer for a fix since it is outside the scope of our support. Thank you.

If I apply the filter to disable cornerstone searches, will search still be able to find results of text inside the cornerstone-edited pages?
Ok, following up -
I applied this filter to my child theme, but searches are still broken if Modern Event Calendar is activated. This fix removes the duplicates, but pages are not included in the search results if MEC is activated. When I deactivate MEC, my search results are correct.
Just to do some testing, I discovered that the new updated Modern Events Calendar Lite seems to work ok, if you install it and Relevanssi to handle searches. I’m going to continue my testing, but it seems that combination appears to make everything in the search results display properly.
