Modal/Layered Navigation Menu Breadcrumbs | Cornerstone X

I am trying to create a sort of decision tree for a client, they have requested breadcrumbs of sorts; just clickable links at the top to go back rather than the standard “Back” option. I would have thought the “Ancestor Links” option under “Active Links Setup” would be the way, but it doesn’t seem to have any effect. Is there a breadcrumbs option for the Modal or Layered navigation menu options?

EDIT: I have disabled all plugins except for Cornerstone to ensure there was no plugin conflict; no change. The “Ancestor Links” option seems like it should be the solution based on the documentation: “Ancestor Link - Enable this option to make the parent of teh current link active. It will show if the current link is a child of another link.”

Thanks!

Hi IPProduction,

It is always good to examine the exact issue at your end.

Hi there, updated the note!

Hello @IPProduction,

Thanks for writing in!

You are referring to Navigation Layered element. There is no breadcrumb feature for this element. The back option is meant to get back to the parent menu list.

By the way, the “ Ancestor Link - Enable this option to make the parent of the current link active. It will show if the current link is a child of another link.” A link is only added to the Back menu item It will not display the name of the parent’s menu item. It may be possible with custom development which means that the navigation layered element has to be re-coded. Be advised that custom coding is way beyond the scope of our support already. If you are familiar with coding, it is best that you create your own navigation layered element instead. You can get started by checking out this element primer:

Thank you for your understanding.
