Hello. I just set up a new site with X (Ethos stack) and have created some of the basic pages (privacy policy, etc.) without using Cornerstone. On these pages, the titles are not showing up. Instead, I have a small breadcrumb displaying. I have set up several sites using X theme and this is the first time I’ve ever run into this. I’ve checked all the obvious solutions, such as having the title disabled or custom css causing this, but there’s none of that. Any idea what could be causing this?
Update - I figured out the breadcrumbs are coming from Yoast SEO plugin, but my question still stands about missing page titles. Thanks.
Hi Steve,
It only happens if you have modified the page using the Cornerstone, still you can have the option Edit with WordPress which will show the Page Title as well.
If that is not the case and you are trying to point out something else, please provide any screenshot marked with the issue or any video that helps us to recognize the problem.
Thanks
Here’s a screenshot of my privacy page. This page was created without using cornerstone - only Wordpress. The title doesn’t display. I don’t have any css that’s causing this and I don’t have any settings selected that should cause the title to not display. Also, I mentioned the breadcrumbs. I thought they were being inserted via the Yoast plugin, but that’s not correct. It’s the x theme that’s doing that. When inspecting that element, its class is “x-breadcrumbs.” Again, this page was created without using cornerstone at all. I have the same thing happening on every other page that’s not created using cornerstone. The breadcrumbs are on every page. Thanks.
Hi Steve,
Can you please check by activating any WordPress default theme and confirm whether the issue still exists or not? If you find that issue exists only with our theme, please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:
– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password
To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.
Thanks
I tried a default theme and the page titles now are there and the breadcrumbs are gone, so it’s an issue with x theme. Is the only possible solution to give you login credentials?
Please close this thread. I’ll just workaround these issues with some custom CSS. Thanks.
Hello Steve,
Please be advised that if you use Blank - Container and Blank - No Container page templates, no page titles will be displayed. You will have to add a page title within your content created in the Pro Editor.
Page titles are only displayed if you are using the default page template, Layout - Fullwidth, Layout - Content Left, Sidebar Right, and the Layout - Sidebar Left, Content Right page template.
For more details about the different page templates in the theme, please check this out:
Best Regards.
