Menu not working in edit mode after update to laters Cornerstone

This is a branch off from the previous thread: How do I revert back to the previous version of Cornerstone?

In short: after Cornerstone update to version 4.2.3. submenus don’t open and revolution slider is not visible in development mode (when I’m logged in). Everything works fine if I open a site in incognito browser mode.

Hi Kirill,

Thank you for reaching out to us. I checked your site and I see the content of your site is being served by the cache so this could be only the cache issue, please clear all caches including browser cache then deactivate your caching plugin and other optimization plugins. If you’re using a CDN, please clear the CDN’s cache and disable optimization services.

After doing the updates, always remember to clear all caches (if you are using WP Rocket, WP SuperCache or W3 Total Cache) when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

Let us know how this goes!

It is indeed related to the W3 total cache plugin. When it is disabled everything works. But I have now two issues:

  1. I cannot enable W3 plugin if Cornerstone is enabled (I have to disable Cornerstone in order to enable W3 and then enable Cornerstone again)
  2. Even if I clean all caches, I still don’t get slider and menu to function.

W3 and Cornerstone could work together with previous version of Cornerstone.
I did also clean browser cache.

Hey Kirill,

Thanks for testing for a plugin conflict and determining that the W3TC plugin is causing the issue. I agree that it could work together with Cornerstone. In fact, we have a general guide regarding W3TC setup here: https://theme.co/docs/how-to-improve-site-performance

It is important to understand however that W3TC setup varies from site to site that’s why we mentioned at the beginning of our article that our suggested setup is not a guarantee that W3TC will work with Cornerstone.

Please try following the guide and if it does not help, please consider hiring a W3TC expert to configure the plugin correctly for you based on what’s on your site. Performance optimization is outside the scope of our support. We understand that your setup conflicts with Cornerstone but this is really beyond our control.

Hope our performance guide helps and thank you for understanding.
